Kiambu coffee, roasted at the top of its game

A specialty roaster and café in Ruiru, buying from smallholder farms on the slopes around Kiambu. The brand had to stand out on a supermarket shelf, look sharp in a café and travel well to export buyers.

01 The logo

The peak, and the bean that grew there

A snow-capped peak with a coffee bean rising like the sun: the high-altitude farms, the climb to a perfect roast and the morning cup. It is bold enough for a café sign and simple enough for a 2 cm sticker on a pouch.

02 Colour

Deep forest, ember and cream

Deep forest green comes from the shade trees over the coffee rows. Ember orange is the colour of a ripe cherry and a hot roaster. Cream and sage keep it calm and premium.

03 Typography

Two typefaces, clear jobs

Space Grotesk Bold for headings, packaging names and signs. Its geometric shapes echo the mountain in the mark and read clearly at a distance.

Aa

IBM Plex Sans Regular for menus, labels, prices and everything people read up close.

04 Applications

Specialty coffee, dressed for the top shelf

Matte deep-green packaging with gold foil, generous spacing and the details coffee buyers look for: origin, altitude, process and tasting notes. Numbered collector tins and gift boxes take the brand into hotels, corporate gifting and export.

Farm to cup, in honest light

Photos follow the coffee: the farms around Kiambu, the roaster, the barista and the cup. Clean daylight and true colours, with ember orange appearing naturally in aprons, cherries and cups.
